The consequences of beers and fast food
OK, today I am tired and it's all self inflicted I stayed up watching sport 'til 4.30am and now I'm suffering the consequences of my stupidity. So I've spent my time today looking a stupid stuff on the net. The best thing I found was this, it kind of sums up the way I see the world.
Looking back over my drunken post Saturday night, I'm quite proud of it really, I'd obviously had far too much to drink but it still reads OK. Not too shabby considering. Yesterday was a bit of a blow out, 12 hours of continuous sport is not good for you, take it from me. Still what doesn't kill ya makes you stronger.
Funny, on Saturday night town was packed, freaked me out really. My bunch of friends and I head out every weekend and it's fairly quiet, but all of a sudden there were people everywhere. I just couldn't get used to it, it kinds ruined my night. This comes from a guy who's lived in major cities before, so I'm quite surprised my perceptions have changed so much in such a short time.
Next weekend will be better I'm sure. We're doing a lad's Xmas dinner, three courses, cheese board, brandy to finish. Lots of wine and beer. Should be a blast, just six of us, living it up and shooting the breeze. Will have to do the cooking in two houses, then bring it all together. The more I think about it the more I know will go wrong. Never mind as long as there is enough beer to go round we'll be fine.
Quiet start to the week, already taken the dog out. He's been swimming today, big waves coming in from the Irish Sea. So as the mean dog owner I am I kept throwing the stick just far enough out so that every time he went to get it he ended up almost surfing back in on those waves. He got quite good at it, 'til he wised up that is and gave up anything thrown too far. My dog is either clever of lazy. A good dash of both I think. Sounds like me really, but I'm definitely more lazy than clever.
Cheating at the moment, am trawling various sites looking for the definitive best albums of 2006, then downloading them. Hot Chip's album, The Warning, is pretty cool, as is Band of Horses - Everything all the time (very Mercury Rev). Will let you know what the rest of them sound like. Bet you can't wait, right.
Other than that it was a pretty uneventful weekend. The Artist's birthday drink was a bit of a damp squib, I talked to loudly about a woman I fancied while ordering some fast food, she heard and blanked me when I saw her outside. So I must remember for future reference that I talk loudly when I'm drunk and hungry. Hmmm, could just be when I'm drunk, I'm not loud when I'm hungry. Still it gave my friend a laugh he was standing next to them while The Happy Camper and I discussed how sexy we thought they were. He was in stitches by the time he got his chips and we could leave.
Still at least my antics made someone smile.
